Good tack brands

Hi, I am looking to buy a new head stall and breast collar. I want a decent brand but not something thatís outrageously expensive. I have weaver and circle y choices in my cart. I also saw a showman filigree and one by aledo saddlery.
Any help is appreciated!

Showman is not a good brand. Circle y is good and Weaver is quite decent.

Thank you very much! I was concerned by the price that it probably was not a very good one. Much appreciated!

Agree with @waresbear . Weaver/Circle Y are decent. I have not been impressed with anything I've seen of Showman's.

I recently bought a stacy westfall bridle (not because of her name - although I do think she's cool - but because I liked the way it looked and how easy the bit could be changed). I really like it - it's a well made bridle with a heavy feel and I really like it. I feels like it's old and worn even though it's a fairly new bridle.

I actually had my breast plate made at a small saddle shop. The guy did an AMAZING job - it matches my saddle perfectly. And it was only $80.

As for brands - it only matters how well the stuff stands up. I have a lot of tack in a lot of brands. My Circle Ys have held up really well but so has the Big Horn I have. It's from back when they really made them well - it's a good 25-30 years old and I've never had to have any work done on it. My favorite saddle is a Don Rich. It's a really heavy ranch saddle but I love it. I actually have a showman that has held up really well also. I have a Bates English saddle that is super comfortable and well made. Wenger work saddles hold up pretty well.

I really think it's preference and how well you take care of your stuff. There are some brands I won't buy so it will be interesting to follow this thread and see where you go.

Will you post pix when you get your tack so we can see all the pretties?

Beautiful bridle with the tooling/carving...and heavy turquoise seen.

I like this similar collection just as much, minus the painted on turquoise but carved..
Both choices are gorgeous.
Bridle, Item# 45-0135
Breast-collar Item# 45-0320

Enjoy your purchases....
