**Colorful/plaid/jeans riding breeches. I need your opinions please!**

Hello everyone!

I am looking for your opinions on this. I have been shopping for riding breeches on-line and at my local tack store in Ontario, Canada. I still havenít found what I am looking for at a reasonable cost . I find there is a lack of jeans/denim, plaid or colorful riding breeches. Everything I find is black, navy, beige, grey or pepto bismol pink. I have nothing against plain breeches but it would be nice to have other choices that are a little funkier for everyday riding/lessons. I currently work in imports/sales. I found someone who could supply me with some real nice riding breeches (nice colorful ones, plaid, striped, jeans breeches.Ö). Do you think there would be a market for this if I was to sell it on-line to Canada and the USA? I would clearly price my breeches at a reasonable cost (cheaper than tack stores) and offer free exchange-shipping-returns. Do any of you buy breeches on-line? Are you happy with the selection currently offered at tack stores or on-line? What do you all think?

Thank you in advance!

In the US most online stores have a range of them - Dover Saddlery, & Smartpak, are a couple of examples

You're offering to sell jeans breeches at a REASONABLE price?

Sign me up! I don't like the look of regular breeches at all. I normally just ride in plain old jeans, but I don't want to wear them out. I discovered jeans breeches - the perfect solution! - but MAN are they way out of my price range!

I would DEFINITELY buy some if you priced reasonably. I don't want to wear holes in my nice jeans. I'm not one for crazy colored things but I know quite a few people are, and I do think you'd find a market in that particular niche. (after all, where else can you find crazy colored breeches?)

What is a "reasonable" price?

I have a closet full of nice breeches and since I shop overstock, clearance, warehouse sales, I've never paid more than $20 a pair.

And if I wore something even slightly crazy to a lesson, that would be my last lesson..... my trainer nearly had a heart attack over me using a dark purple saddle pad once.

I ride western and have only ever ridden in jeans. Haven't heard of jean breeches but I could be very interested. I go to the horse every night and my jeans are having the color and shape washed out of them.

It would probably be a big hit in the U.S. It's so hard to find cool breeches that I can afford, especially jean styles, and I know plenty of other people with the same problem. And with a free exchange/shipping/returns policy I would definitely be more inclined to buy. Gosh, I bought a pair of gloves from Dover a few months ago and they ended up being too big, and I didn't send them back because the shipping cost would be more than the worth of the gloves!

Jaydee, I have heard of Smartpak and I think they have some decent stuff priced reasonably but they only ship to the USA. What about us Canadians? LOL!! As of Dover, they have some nice breeches but the ones I like are pretty pricey.. In Canada, we have Greenhawk stores which would be the equivalent of Dover.. We don't really have a smartpak kind of website for Canadians.... or do we and I'm just unaware of it?

Delfina, I don't know what the cost of my breeches will be yet, depending on the style, shipping cost I have to cover to bring it to Canada, duties, import fees and so on. I certainly have some work to do. But I can assure you they would be less then most tack stores or priced competitively for the stuff you most likely won't find elsewhere.

And 5Bijou5, I think the jeans breeches are more popular in the states/overseas then here in Canada. I believe Greenhawk only carry one style of jeans breeches which does not leave you with much choice..

Thank you all for responding!

I love plaid! I always buy 2nd hand Except my jeans. I could by the red plaid or green plaid. Plaid is to die for.
