@phantomhorse13 have a great trip!!

My DH is crazy. DSís car that died at Starbucks? The one that the timing chain broke and wrecked the engine? The one with a Bluebook value of $832(when running....)? DH went to a sales call. The guy had a Civic there with the motor out of it, and DH said his son had an Accord with the motor out....showed the guy a picture of it. The guy whips out his business checkbook, and gives DH a check for $1500!!

I cannot believe I bathed a horse in mid February!! JR was so coated in mud that I couldnít bear to brush him, and it warmed up into the 70ís, so I took the hose to him....about 1/2 hour on jet to get through that dense hair, and it still looked like chocolate milk running out!! After I ran out to the Mennonites to get new manure fork heads, he was almost dry, and I trimmed his front feet.

I was about to head up to the house, and the bottom fell out!! I used the time to brush tails out.

I don't break horses, I FIX them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @SwissMiss ///hope your day was filled with fun and happiness!
(and cool gifts)

@phantomhorse13 safe flying! Florida my be quite HOT right now; stay cool!

@Spanish Rider thanks for checking in with us! I am so sorry about Lunita passing, she was certainly very special

Hope you can get more riding time soon. The horse industry as a whole seems to be slowing down. Horses are so soothing to one's soul, may you find time to just be with them even if not riding.

@QueenofFrance08 really enjoyed those pictures! Looks very cold though! Are you still wearing your riding skirt?

@SueC nice to see you
popping in!

@greentree Your DH is amazing getting $1500 for what is left of that car! I always had to pay people to take my non-running vehicles...

You are super busy lately; the border beast keeps you hopping!

@Celeste are you planning on meeting the others in MS for the endurance ride?

Please keep Boarder Beastís Mom in your thoughts today.....she is having all of her wisdom teeth taken out. She put the farrier off until the 19th, which is good! Possibly I can get her to reconsider before then. Fingers crossed! Iím glad she figured out the horse doesnít need shoes to stand around while she recovers....that took a minute.

Every day, I stand and stare at Sissy. I am in awe at how beautifully golden-copper and glowing her coat is on this feed. I have had her 6 years, and usually this time of year, I am wondering if I need to do a supplemental worming on her, before my Presidents Day worming!

It turned c-c-cold overnight, but I think the sun is going to be out, so I may get a ride in today! Becca sent me a text earlier in the week about being off today, so maybe she will come over. I need to go the feed store (shock.....lol!), too.....

I don't break horses, I FIX them!

Thank you guys for all the birthday wishes! Got spoiled with pasta con gorgonzola for dinner - you should have seen the kiddo's faces "do we have to eat that?????"
Apparently DH decided gluing the panels wasn't enough of a gift and handed me a card that contained a treasure map So I followed the map and ended up outside, behind the house and found a cot tent Now I can go horse camping in style and comfort

@greentree , whenever you mention that you brushed tails out, I feel guilty Raya's tail desperately needs a wash - I don't think that her tail should be this dark and mud colored

Only a horse person would think that a husband giving them a bed to sleep outside in is a good thing

@SwissMiss YUM!! I❤️❤️ Gorgonzola! You are really set up for horse-camping now!! DH showed me a video from a trade show....a horse trailer with frame rails that come out from beneath the trailer (mechanically) , with attached panels that fold out to make a pen, then an awning comes out over it. I watched and KNOW that the first time I used that, those rails would get bent, and not slide back in!! It was on the AERC FB page, if you want to see it!

@Celeste great to know you are not dead!! The first time I pulled the trailer by myself, I took Billy Joe to a lesson. I called DH and told him it only took 30 minutes; I was so proud of myself!! He exclaimed 30 MINUTES??!! Itís ONLY 8 miles!!! LOL...I sang ďI Should Have Been A CowboyĒ at the top of my lungs the whole way!!

It is really cold out there....not sure riding will happen....and the door on the truck is frozen shut, so the sun will have to shine for a bit before I go anywhere!!

I don't break horses, I FIX them!

More ice and now wind- our power has been flickering for 2 days now- we are lucky though because some in our rural area do not have power at all and the wind chill was -27F this morning.

I got the kindest text from the Gracie's primary vet last night. She wrote how there is a void at the hospital and how she has us in her thoughts after Gracie's passing. We are all feeling it here as well - my daughter is trying to be brave - it was the hardest phone call I have ever had to make. The tears were almost more than I could bare - but the sobbing and not being able to hold and comfort my daughter was devastating.

@carshon so sorry for your loss

@SwisMiss birthday dinner sounds amazing! What a great present!

Just thought I'd throw this out there for all of you east coast people..... I'm hoping to make it out to Kentucky in August to stay with my friend who just moved from Wisconsin (horsey friend from Endurance last year) and I'm bringing Stitch with me. My plan as of now is (if it's not cancelled like it was last year) to go the week and continue my trip and attend Ride Between the Rivers in West Virginia and finally get to meet @phantomhorse13 while I'm out there! I would LOVE it if anyone else could make it too so I just thought I'd put the idea out there! I'm sure it's far for you guys too but if anyone is in the area I know there's a lot of endurance fans in this group!
