At our house, too - Lindt especially!

I might as well come out with it and be open about the fact that I've never been drunk in my life or used recreational drugs - no judgement on anyone who does; it's just the way my life turned out. I have complex PTSD and that was never going to mix well with drugs or alcohol - and I've seen some cases where that was completely disastrous. I simply didn't want even more complications, so I made the decision to stay away from that early on. (Which is not to say I don't eat chocolate liqueurs, abstain totally from alcohol - we like cider and I use a lot of wine in desserts and cooking, or don't do recreational substances via food and its effects on the body. )

However, my writer friend Elizabeth, who's just edited my 7000-word music essay for me, tells me my brain already has an "acid trip, no mushrooms required" setting, and I'll take her word for it. I do know that I can personally get psychedelic experiences from eating profiteroles...

...I've tried seven times to add this to my above post but it keeps saying "database error" when I do, so excuse this back-to-back please, but we needed visuals.

Speaking of recreational drugs and mushrooms…

Voters in Denver have voted in favor of decriminalizing the possession/use of psychodelic mushrooms. Denver was also the first American city to legalize the use of marijuana. Of course, if you're high on pot all the time, I imagine that legalizing other drugs might seem like a good thing. Maybe we all need to start peeing into a cup before voting?

OK, I am not going.
phantomhorse13, SueC and SwissMiss like this.

@Celeste I liked your post for the trail riding not for the bad news about your sister. Your flowers are beautiful!

@Spanish Rider YAY for a new horse to ride! You will do awesome! Love your cat picture!

@AnitaAnne so glad your Chiro has you fixed up enough to sleep!

@SueC I wanted to eat my computer with your picture of those chocolate cream pastry things!

We left Wednesday night for our ride. Long story short Stitch tied herself on a high tie the first night and almost strangled herself. She got cut up pretty bad. We took her to mark trail Thursday and got to ride to a bar (see picture). She stiffened up while she was tied there and we had to walk her back 5 miles. Ended walking Chico too because he was walking too fast if we tried riding. Got lost, it was bad. I'll do a full journal story soon.

DH let me ride Chico in the LD Saturday. It poured rain and there were only 8 entries. We finished 5th (out of 6 adults) but came in with 3rd and 4th. Took us longer to pulse down because Stitch was at the trailer.

They cancelled the Sunday rides because it was still pouring and it snowed right after we left.

Vet checked Stitch out and said she will be back to normal as soon as the swelling goes down.

Need to invest in bubble wrap....

How does a 31 year old lazy horse that stands under the fan all day do this?

@Queen , looks like you had fun, but poor Stitch!

@Celeste ! What is that? Looks like a giant bungee cord. Do your horses jump off bridges?
