Put me in the "yuck" crowd. I don't find this appealing at all, personally... Breeding to the extremes just blows my mind. Why not breed for something normal that isn't high-risk for health problems?
The foal looks like it has dwarf characteristics, as well as some weird eyes and an offset bite.

This wasn't breeding to an extreme - this is the result of breeding two reasonably/respectably sized minis. They were not trying to attain a tiny foal.

with the bulging head and eyes he looks like a dwarf to me. I heard in another thread that they are wanting to breed him...

I don't see a thing wrong with this foal. It seems that every time a very small mini is born, people want to fight over whether it was the right to exist. They weren't trying for a mini-mini, and as long as they don't breed him, I'm good with his existence.

Also, he's not all that cute to me... He WOULD be cute if he were a little more proportioned.

Hope he turns out OK health wise...

As a miniature horse owner/lover/breeder, I fail to see how miniature horses are cruel to breed???

And 30 and 32" minis are perfectly normal, which is what this foal's parents are. A sized minis are 34" and under. I have a well proportioned 29" mini, the one in my avatar. Most of my minis range from 31-33" with some taller and some smaller. This guy was born small, but I bet he'll end up around 28-30".

I will reserve my judgement on what this guy's confo is like until he's filled out a bit. I will say that the markings on his head make it seem bigger than I think it is. And mini foals (heck, all foals in general, but sometimes minis even more) look a little silly when first born. I DO think his eyes look odd, but I have a 2 y/o filly who, when she was born, I thought her whole head (eyes included) was ugly. Now it's beautiful. I can't access my photos from work, but if you'd like to see, go to my website www.CheyAutRanch.com and on the mini mare's page it's Solitaire. There's a link to her photo album and you can see what I mean, pics from when she was born to now.

Will this guy turn out to be a well-conformed horse when mature? Only time will tell. I WOULD like to see new photos of him when he's a few weeks old, he'll look a lot different by then.
