Big enough area for an arena?

I measured an arena that I am able to make an arena, It measures 43.5ft by 86.25ft..

I was wondering if this was a large enough area for one horse to ride with walk, trot, and canter. No Jumping.
This horse does saddleseat which has a slower rocking chair canter and good footing, he is between 15.3 and 16hh.

Is this a large enough area?

Yes, you can make it work. Too bad it can't be bigger, but I used to teach lessons in a small outdoor arena about this size.

Hope that you fall in love with "Trot", like I did!

Thanks, I can extend this more because on the one side is our driveway (cant make it bigger this way) but on the other side is the pasture which would add to the 43.5ft and make it atleast 50 or a little more. I can also add to 86.25 by making our paddock area smaller.(: thanks!

My "arena" is about 48' by 72', and I can comfortably w/t/c and even do a small cross rail. Granted, my gelding is only about 15.2 ish, but it works adequately.

The standard size for a dressage arena is 20m X 40m (66' X 132') This allows for a 20m circle on the lunge.

Smaller is possible but it is tight.
