Bummer, but kinda glad

Well, yall remember the horse I talked about the horse I was going to buy on the thread "Do horses NEED to be pastured???". Well, my cousin who is a vet and extremely good looking and judging horse conformation came out and looked at the horse. She found that the horse has a bog spavin on her back left leg. Kinda sucks. Did some research and apparently it is a sign of osteochondritis dissecans and degeneration of her joints. And leads to lameness because her bog spavin is stress caused not injury Not only that but she also pointed out that her back hooves when she walks bow inward and rub against each othe and when she canters they click. AND to top that off I had noticed that she coughs a lot after exercise. She has Equine asthma which requires a once a month steroid sot which is about $150. And that because of these conditions she won't be able to do dressage or ranch sorting like I wanted to do with her. I'm not going to buy her. It's a bummer but I'm really glad she pointed these things out before I made any commitments or put down money on her.

I'm in the market for buying a horse again....

It is a bummer, but be glad that you had some experienced people to help you and didn't end up buying a horse that you would not be able to ride to your expectations.

Good luck with your search!
