Cinderella! (Ella) the princess under the dirt.

Ok I know some of y'all have been following my other thread, but I'm starting this one as kinda a journal where I can post pics and updates as she grows and gentles.

Ella is a filly I recently won in a contest. You had to post as many ads as you could on a website and the person that posted the most wins. Well, I already had some stuff to sell, so I was like what the heck and did it. Long story short I won her and went to pick her up and she was in a little bitty lot with no water on a 90+ degree day. She had never been handled, wouldnt lead etc, never even been petted or loved on at all. :( well I couldn't just leave her there so I brought her home. That was yesterday. When I got her home I was pleasantly surprised to find out she is amazingly smart and really sweet natured. In 30 minutes I had her letting me pet her on a slack rope, lungeing both directions and starting to lead a little bit. 2 hours later I took her out with very little fight and let her graze on some tall grass and she dug in like she's never seen it before. Any way, I know she's not perfect, but she's only 16 months old, so, lets see how she grows!

Yesterday shortly after getting her home.

Yesterday evening when I had her out grazing.

Today working with her. She's gotten where she'll take a few steps towards me when I lunge her when I stop she turns to me in her own. She's leading fairly well now also. She is still not letting me touch her much, but I can per her on the back and down the neck.

She's a cutie. I bet she'll be a stunner when she's filled out and grown a little more.

Glad she is not too wild for you and looks like she has a willing eye.

I figured I would let you know about the journal section on this site as I figured you hadn't seen it for this type of thread.

Do you have a good alpha horse that you could pen her with? My feral yearling filly made progress in leaps and bounds after I put my older horse in the pen with her to teach her some mannerisms of a broke horse.

She's a cutie, I look forward to watching her grow up.

My alpha horses would devour her, lol. She's way to gentle natured. She's not wild, just unhandled. She's catching on quick. Just needs to learn trust.

LOL, that's where having a "good" alpha comes in handy. I've got my uber-alpha mustang that will whip anything and everything that lays an ear at him, even if it's twice his size, but he is the perfect teacher for young'uns. A strict disciplinarian when they get too big for their britches, a loving and protective big brother when another horse wants to bully them, and a good friend to groom them and stay beside them.

Alright y'all, here's some recent pics of Ella. There's not a whole whole lot if physical difference, but as far as personality goes, she has inproved dramatically., now she's spunky, sweet and willing.
