she could be just getting a hay/grass belly.

is she getting protein? grain? alfalfa? or just grass/grass hay?

My 6 month old filly was getting a huge gut and was looking ribby. I had to really up her protein intake and shes started to put on muscle and good weight. the big belly is going down and she doesnt look bloated.

I believe i paid $75 for an ultrasound when I bred my mare. thats pretty cheap for peace of mind. thank goodness.

If being bred is even a slight possibility (which it is, since she was running with a stud), then the vet needs to come, yesterday. If she is preggers and it's still early, you really need to get it aborted because she's so young and it will be very hard on her...and her conformation doesn't need to be reproduced.
