@PoptartShop : I hope Promise is back to normal today and that you didn't get too much snow.

@carshon : hope things dry up and the mare gets back to normal. how is DD liking school?

@Caledonian : back to the grind is never much fun, but at least you had sympathetic people around you. hope the flooding subsides.

@TuyaGirl : George flaps his tongue whenever he is happy! Which sometimes is not when you as a rider are very happy with him.

@JCnGrace : my DH claims they used to get a lot of snow, but thankfully that has not been my experience since moving here. so sorry to hear the barn cats are not well. hopefully that passes without issue.

@blue eyed pony : glad the ankle is healing well. don't do anything too crazy and hurt it again during this healing period!

@RegalCharm : most of the graves are fairly old, though I am not sure of the oldest date.. I will have to pay more attention. what are you teaching Carmen? pics please!

@Finalcanter : that type of schedule would make me crazy and you def should not be the only one subjected to it (not that anybody should be). mounted police work would be a fun new adventure.

I have gotten saddle time both yesterday and today! The whole story is in my journal.

Yesterday, I went over to ride with Nicole. I rode Tegan:

Today, I decided to take Link out with George:

Then I went over to ride with my SIL. I rode Amish:

There is no joy equal to that found on the back of a horse.

@phantomhorse13 teaching her to get her leash off the peg and bring it to me if she wants to go for a car ride. I really need to get a camera but then you all would have to deal with a flood of pics of my baby girl. LOL....All I got is an old flip phone and it doesn't take good pictures.

@blue eyed pony yes that is the second link I posted for you. It shows it in a spray bottle and a bottle without a sprayer.

Thank you for the support guys.

I can't wait to get over to the barn. I pencil drew my friend's favorite horse (right when I got home.. didn't take too long and wasn't any bother) yes hes smiling a bit.. artistic liberty with his personality I suppose. So here's my horsey thing of the week haha. Just felt like sharing it here before I share it elsewhere.

@blue eyed pony , good news about your ankle doing much better already! Chuck has waited this long so he can continue to wait until that ankle is strong enough. I know round pen work doesn't seem like it will be that much of a physical stress when you're only thinking about the constant turning to keep your eyes on him will be stressful to your ankle. I'd keep doing what was working for Ikora too instead of switching meds.

@RegalCharm , what are you going to do when Carmen wants to go for a car ride in the middle of the night and you don't? LOL You could never post too many pictures of that beautiful lady.

@carshon , glad to hear all went well with gallbladder surgery. Have they given you an estimate about how long it will be post new hip before you can ride?

@PoptartShop , as much as I don't like cold weather the warm winter isn't doing much to kill off the allergens for us allergy sufferers. Promise needs extra grooming time or whatever she enjoys for being such a good girl!

@Finalcanter , if mounted patrol is what you think you'd like to do go for it! Having family that are in the police business you ought to have heard enough stories to know whether or not you can handle that part of the job. Are you in NYC or another part of New York? Hubby was a police officer for 32 years and loved his job but doesn't think he'd feel the same in today's world. He's been retired since 2000.

Love your drawing and thank you for thinking enough of us to want to share it with us first! I totally admire those with artistic talents because I have none so I appreciate those of you who can bring beauty into my world.

@phantomhorse13 , I can see what you're hubby is saying. We don't get near the snow here in Indiana that we got when I was growing up.

So how different does it feel to ride Tegan compared to your Arabs?

Got the hay moved and there weren't any flies crawling all over it when I threw it down from the haymow this time! There was a whole herd of lady bugs hiding on the wall behind the hay though. LOL

R.I.P. JC 5/19/85 - 12/9/14. You made my life better.

@JCnGrace that ankle is already strong enough to handle constant turning, it did it yesterday with ikora hahah. Still somewhat in the moon boot (I'm walking around the house without it but still wearing it out and about) but Ikora was a right toad and my ankle handled her fine. Chuck is most likely going to be easier than she is on her bad days! That being said he hasn't been brought down yet, so I'll be waiting until he has been, and then for a couple of days afterwards so that he and Ikora can settle into living together.

@phantomhorse13 I am living vicariously through you with all your rides!! I love it! Glad you didn't get TOO much snow either! We got about 1-2in, it's already melting a bit though.

@JCnGrace ladybugs are good luck apparently, so that is a good thing!

@Finalcanter what a nice drawing! I can only draw stick figures.

I confess, Promise's cut is healing, just needs to scab so I unwrapped it last night & I'm letting it get some air. Not supposed to rain until Sunday, so it will hopefully scab by then. She was really good last night, she let me put some antibiotic ointment on it, then I sprayed an aerosol bandage on it, since it doesn't really need to be wrapped anymore. She got extra treats! <3

Farrier is supposed to come tonight or tomorrow night, not sure which yet. Since she's letting me touch her leg (or maybe because it's me) so I think she'd be fine for the farrier. Kinda glad he didn't end up coming over the weekend, she probably wouldn't have let him near her leg! The swelling is going down too which I'm happy about. FINALLY. She's not lame on it at all, it's superficial, but this is like the 3rd time she's cut her leg in the past year. Not sure how she does it, but she does it! LOL.

Here's the cutie last night!

Still didn't get a chanche to try out the seat saver. It rained alot and we did ride in the rain, but the seat saver is made from wool and we didn't want it to get wet. My friends did tell me it looked like it was still half alive. :p Really curious how the horse will look 'wearing' it.

Yesterday the horse gang of 5 got really scared and spooked very suddenly. I was holding a horse on a lead rope and he was jumping around (the group spook happened while I was leading this horse and the other horses were near me, they were polite enough to not jump on me and evade me). I tried to move him forward and he very suddenly decided it would be safe to leap towards me really fast and try to kinda hide/seek shelter behind me. :p I don't know if I interpreted this behaviour right (??), but I really saw him doubt between the group of horses and me and then he made a jump for it... I felt like he wanted me to protect him (??) This made me realise I had to calm down (I don't have a lot of experience with horses and I was afraid when I saw my horse was very afraid) because he wanted to feel safe. After he calmed down he gently bumped me with his nose. :) I love him, he's such a cutie pie.

Good question. I really don't know. But maybe tell her to get on the phone and call a taxi? LOL I see you don't know me when it comes to taking pictures. LOL.....

I confess I have been on pet finder looking at other GSD's. Saw a couple of really pretty ones. I do not need another dog. I do not need another dog. Now everybody join in I DO NOT need another dog. I DO NOT need another dog.

Ikora is a brat and has broken the lead rope that matches her nice halter, so I have my eyes on a 23ft training lead the right colour. I could also buy it in that colour in 10ft or 12ft, it depends on whether I want to spend $30, $40 or $60 (yeah, good leads are expensive here) plus postage. And she's due to see the farrier, but I don't have quite enough money for that right now this instant so she's just going to have to wait until I do...

A 23ft training lead will also have applications for use working with Chuck, but I can't take the 12ft lead off the halter I'll be using on him because the clip is rusted shut...
