Cosequin and Horse treats

My horse has gotten Cosequin joint powder for years and just recently she decided she wasn't going to eat it. I get the same stuff as she's always had.

I also make all of her treats. So my question is do you think I could put her Cosequin in the treats??

I dont know, but I've had the same thoughts about putting supplements / minerals into treats/cookies to dose our pony with. Might make life easier... Let me know how you go.

Ok after several days of pondering I decided to settle it and called my 2 vets and Cosequin themselves. They all told me the same thing. Great idea but do not bake them. So if anyone has any treat recipes that do not require baking...I'd appreciate it. I will look and post if I find any as well :)

Nicker Bait makes treats that have a place to put pills/meds that work great. I haven't tried with supplements, but I think it would work fine and they are already baked, you add the Cosamin after so it wouldn't affect the supplements in any way. Here's their site if you are interested - I love their stuff!!! Nicker Bait — Pill Camo
