So, as some of you may know, I've been giving lessons on Lacey this past year.
Three weeks ago, I only had one little girl coming every week and I was really hoping to get more kids coming just because lessons are currently my only form of income and $15 a week was just barely barely barely enough.
Well, now, only three weeks later, I have, including that original little girl, SIX kids coming a week. AND I just had another mom call me. How crazy is that? Three of them just got on board this last week, so I have three "new kid" lessons in the next week. Two of them heard about me by other moms telling them about it and the rest heard about it from the classifieds at my church.
It's totally crazy. I didn't think that I'd ever be nearly good enough to give lessons as a job, I was just using it as a way to get by. DANG.
I practically need another lesson horse.
I am actually considering looking into other horses if this keeps up and these people start being regulars. My "sign", if you will, is if there's a small but stocky, under 14hh, sweet, calm, not spooky, less than 15 years old, preferably POA, mare (I'd prefer a mare but if there's a gelding like that...) that Lacey likes, at my camp this summer. If there's a pony like that, I might just decide to bring it home (all the camp horses are basically for sale if someone wants them. Some of the better ones aren't, but a pony like that would be new to the string and therefore 'for sale'). But, that's just a maybe. I don't want to invest in another horse and have no one come for lessons anymore, but if lessons keep up at this rate, poor Lacey is going to start hating kids!
So basically, I'm thrilled and I wanted to tell someone!
