My goal this year was to not get disqualified for refusals, and to go to an off property show.

I did 5 schooling shows and one fall fair, in what would be my first true year in showing, as last year I was just way too nervous and kept getting refusals. Out of 29 classes, I placed 24 times, with a Champion and a Reserve Champion as well. The fall fair and one schooling show was off property.

I am super happy with the results that I have gotten, and hope to continue it this year.

2011 will be the same...most likely only schooling shows, but getting more consistant results, and having better rides. Bart and I still occasionally leave a stride out when he gets to be a Freight Train (his show name when I ride him), or sometimes we miss getting a lead in the air, or he will go all disunited for some silly reason.

It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows. --Epictetus

My goal of 2010 was to have Sunny started under saddle. That was a failure. I really just decided to wait until she turns three, and I wanted her ground manners a bit better.

So, my 2011 resolution:
By the end of the year, I want a solidly green broke horse. I want a solid w/t/c both directions and a solid back up. I'd also like this to happen with no vet bills or doctor bills.

My goal for 2010 was to get riding lessons! I achieved that at late August. My resolutions for 2011 would probably be to be able to sit the canter well and invest in some half chaps/breeches! And maybe English boots because right now I'm using Western. xD They work, for now.

Also I want to be able to lease my favorite lesson horse She's a QH named Hugs! (Yes,that's me in the pic )

2010 goals... don't really remember those... haha. But, things I'm proud to have accomplished - had a very successful show season at Training Level with Beau, started working with a dressage trainer again with Beau, took Cavalina to 7 shows with in-hand classes to get her out & about, Cav finished as Reserve Champion with the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society for the USDF All-Breed awards.

2011 goals:
-Show First Level
-Get his joint issues resolved finally
-Resume jumping
-Show at USDF shows that are AQHA recognized for points

-Get on her, see what she does
-Maybe make her a trail horse if all goes well

-Continue showing her at Future Event Horse, USDF, SMHA shows
-Take her to Dressage at Devon if her 2 year old scores are high enough to make it worth it
-Teach her to longe (the concept at a walk/trot, not actual longe work... she'll only be 2)

Show even more than we did this year, which was 20 shows...

my goal for the year was to just be able to EARN an overall trophy instead of a 4th place defult. I got 2 defults in sporting with my horse and earned an overall 3rd against 15 other riders. I was super happy. I was getting 2nds and 3rds in everything at that sporting day. It was the highlight of my sporting year.
I also got to take amir in his first show jumping comp as well. I was hoping for no refusals and i got just that. Also tied for 3rd in one of my rounds which just iced that cake for me.

2011 im hoping to compete at the state gmkhana and sporting in september. For that i need to get me d and c certificates which is easily done and i can do state gymkhana. For sporting i need to get my times up which will be a bit hard for a few of th events. Dont know how im going to run a 9second diamond flag race if im currently doing around 20 but we'll get there lol.

Here's hoping everyone has a fabulous 2011!

Goals for 2010:
Go to an actual ODE (went to a local one, did ok for our first time out, until that pesky XC jump Samson refused twice! and we had schooled it a couple of weeks ago with no problem!)
Foxhunt more (went to three. Loved it!!!!)
Attend every hunter pace put on by local hunt (small things like sisters and cousins getting married kept me out of 2)
Get Samson's leads and canter all straightened out (yay! turned out to be a saddle problem and are now well on our way to great slow canter work)
Figure out how to braid (still not my favorite thing to do, but successfully managed to do it for three shows)

Goals for 2011
Start retraining new OTTB Cappella (holy cow that is going to be a huge goal!)
Take Cappella to ODE
Foxhunt more
Ride at two new state parks
get my leg to stop swinging
and a million more that will pop up over the year.

Happy New Year Everyone!

My 2011 resolutions and goals, since I didn't really make any for 2010:

-train Lenox to stand rock still when I mount versus bolting
-bring Arthur, Lenox, Molly, and Excel to fair and place with each of them at least once
-get lessons and work on my 2-pt form
-buy a trailer to trailer to lessons and trails
-make sure excel stays sound.....or is sound at least once in a while, after his pulling shoes, abcess, and now his cut on his inside leg.....
-get molly to where she was in training before Alicia messed with her
bombproof Lenox, Molly, Excel, Latte, and Frappe
-play parelli with Latte and Frappe
-make sure Latte and Frappe are finished with their groundwork training, including comfortable with touching everywhere, comfortable with leading, brushing, tying, catching, bombproofing, etc.
-work on collection with Excel big-time, along with his terribly frustrating herd separation anxiety
-run electric tape along the open side of the back pastures so we can utilize all of it
-fill dirt pasture, arena and round pen with sand
-build two more stalls and tack room on our barn
-get jobs babysitting to help pay for my expencive hobby
-get gymkhana Top 5 again at fair, only this time on Molly. I'd like to beat my one friend who gets first every time on her mare Gracie
-really look into vet schools

I know I'll think of more, but these are the big ones
