I enjoy alone time. But then again I'm naturally solitary anyway. But I'm also a big show off. If I'm on s good performance horse I want to be good and I want people to see it. Selfish of me? Maybe. But then again, the only riders I do that too are the snobs who consider themselves better than everyone. Lesson in humilitnon a good horse ha ha

Is there a difference between riding alone and by yourself that I'm not aware of?

If you mean alone or with others, I prefer alone in the arena. I like to have a free long side for lengthening the stride and not have to worry about what another rider is doing, although I do prefer someone on the ground in the barn or nearby in case of an emergency. On trails it's nice to have horses and riders I trust who know their trail manners well.

It is quite nice to be at a very large, active barn where I can show up at any given time, and be around people. It is quite nice. Even when I am riding "alone" I am not, because the 3 arena's always have other riders.
I feel your pain! I hate being alone...I find more thngs to critize myself on and I find myself wanting to quit sooner because I'm lonely...but I'm a huge people person lol =)

I like to ride alone. That way I can secretly work at perfecting my sitting trot without being laughed at.

I like riding by myself for the most part except when I'm going on a trail ride, then I like to have someone with me so we can chat and just incase something happens. I don't really like riding when I'm the only one at the barn though, which is very rare but it does happen. I always worry something will happen and no one will know.

Usually with one or two friends it makes it more fun and interesting you can have mini races ex. but i dont mind riding by myself expecially if i had a bad day

It depends.

If im doing flatwork, I like being alone and having the whole arena to myself. Selfish, I know.
But I hate it when people get in your way even after telling them what you are doing and where in the arena.
I get out of your way, please can you get out of mine?

But while like galloping around and jumping I perfer to be with a friend. Much more fun and its easier to relax sometimes. =]
