That does not look like a $500 horse. Maybe they missed the decimal place? Or maybe he is cryptorchid?

I wonder if it is one of those scams where they ask you to send them the money, and then they promise to bring you the horse, but they don't.

Its not uncommon the find an OTTB freshly off the track/still racing for next to nothing, I see them all the timeon Canter's site. (Even when they are as nice as him) A lot of times they just want them out of the racing barn as quickly as possible to make room for a new horse as the trainers only have a limited number of stalls. Which is where you get really nice horses for really cheap, a large number of race trainers know little to nothing about other diciplines so if the horse isnt racing well it's not worth much to them.

I rarely see horses for more than $2000 on CANTER, the most I ever saw was $4500. And those horses that have the higher price tags are the ones which were bred and raised by the trainer or they're just not in a huge hurry or looking for a quick sale so they raise the price and wait for the right buyer.

There is an emense amount of raw talent in horses coming off the tracks, unfortunately most people fail to recognized or acknowledge that it it exists. A lot are scared off by the TB stereotypes (most of which are untrue and unjustly placed upon them). However, what ever the case may be as to why there isn't a great demand for OTTBs (yet), the fact still remains that there is a lack of demand for them. Which is why you can find amazing horses such as this one being virtually given away!

If I were younger, I would drive up and buy him.
I can't do training any more.
