Is this even fair??

Ok, so most of you all know I was going to buy a mini horse, and told the owner my mom said yes, but about a few days after, my mom got me a full sized horse.

The owner says I owe her 40.00 for taking him off her sales list.

Is this fair?

Why would you have to pay the mini owner? Unless there was a contract signed that stated you'd have to make a payment if the sale was cancelled, she has nothing to stand on. She can just re-list the ad, and it sure doesn't cost $40 to list one.

I know. No contract was signed stating that I had to pay her if the sale was canceled, only a contract for a payment plan (5.00 weekly).
She said I owe her 40.00 because I was irresponsible and used up her time (?!) and because she has to take him off her sales list.

I really dont know, she said she'd turn me in as a scammer.

That's her problem. I would never remove an ad until the horse was purchased and picked up. I wouldn't even respond to her...that ridiculous...she's just trying to get some money from her mistake.

I've spent most my life riding horses...the rest i've just wasted.

But wait.. was there a contract or wasn't there? Did you sign something saying that you would pay her a weekly sum?

Also, you said your mom bought you a horse.. Are you a minor? If so, the lady should be dealing with your parents, not you directly.
