The few times my farrier comes to trim my horse's hooves he almost always say that she has the soundest hooves out of all the horses he shoes. When my first horse Pearl was alive he said the same thing as he still does with Roxie. Both horses are/were Lippit Morgans, old types, but there soundness probably doesn't come from the breed. He shoes most of the horses in his practice but mine go without shoes. Is it normal for a farrier to say that my horse has the soundest hooves? I do take it as a compliment but it still makes me wonder. I know that some of the horses he does are old or have huge bulky bodies with hooves to small for there size. Maybe that could be a part of it I don't know. What do you think?
