I'm confident this was a person, not an animal. Not a natural death.

*ahem* Just to add to this, not only would pagans not do this, but neither would satanists. As a general rule, satanism is about being ego-centric and selfish, not about sacrificing animals or even blood. In fact, they have a rule that says they should not harm non-human animals unless attacked or for food. They also have a rule about not hurting small children. Everyone else is fair game though...

Mods, grant me the serenity to see the opinions I cannot change, courage to change the ones that should change, and the wisdom to spot the trolls.

I expect you are right, but unless you are there you cannot believe what you read in newspapers. The foal could have died before the crimes - you just don't know. I have seen several reports of satanic events in rags such as these where it is obvious that the mutilated bits have been dog damage.

I suspect something awful did happen, but I will not assume things based upon high drama stories devised to sell papers.

You're right, Chiilaa, but there are many small cults out there, and also many young people with the wrong idea about Satanism - around here, we've had cats mutilated and sacrificed ("hanged from a tree, skinned alive" style, not something that can be confused with a natural death and animal-made mutilation), just because a bunch of teenagers have decided to be "mages" or "worship the darkness", without any clue what is all that really about. In the end, a sick person will find any excuses for their immoral, disgusting actions. A religion involved or not.

Ah, I worded that post wrong. I also have wiccan friends and I do know a few satanists. But what I really ment, was the people who have the wrong perception about witchcraft and think its cool to kill things and ect.. Because of the media and steriotypes. And even Christians made gruesome animal sacrifices in the Bible.

If people did this. No blood in those photos, so probably a dead foal mutilated by animals.

Theres a reason why people used to burn witches and satanists.
That is a very ignorant statement. Many innocent people where murdered during the Salem witch trials.

Surely they were all innocent? as being a witch isn't a crime.

This disgusts me beyond words for so many reasons. Firstly because that innocent animal died a horrific death and nothing can change that.

And secondly because Pagans are being associated with this crime. Anyone who knows the first thing about Paganism will tell you that we're the most non-violent people you could ever meet. At worst, we're a bunch of tree huggers. Animals are sacred to many Pagan faiths, and the last thing we would want to do is harm them. We don't worship demons, either. Thus debunking the ritualistic sacrifice BS.

There's also a big difference between Satanists and Satan worshipers.

The monsters that did this were nothing but psychopaths. They shouldn't be lumped in with any other group of people. They're just plain sick SOB's.

Sorry for the tangent.
