I leased a horse before I got Champ, but I can't find a picture of him. Champ I got when is was a foal but we were unsure exactly of age. He was my first real horse and I don't think I could ever find him another home. He is about 9 now.

First day I got him:

And now:

EDIT// I love how crazy my parents were for buy me a youngster for my first horse. :) We didn't know much at the time and I sure got some instinct beaten into me. Turned out well though!

Good idea for a thread - I love ones like these.

This is Pepe- he is the horse I learnt to ride one properly after only ever having ridden as a fun thing with friends and their horses. He is a 15.1/15.2hh Brown OTTB and would buck/bolt and did a few times over the 11months I rode him - its the difficuly horses who have the most to teach you.

I had been riding and loving him for the last 11mo, he brought me from being an eye-sore of a rider, to a confident and dedicated rider (though I still have much to learn). I went from not knowing how to trot and use leg aids, to being able to ask him onto the bit in walk, trot and canter. Infact my riding progressed so much with him that I was the one to bring him back into work after he had had 4 weeks off (he had been learning that bucking people off was a good idea to stop being ridden - he was checked for pain multiple times, I think he just needed a breather).

He was and still is one of my special horses - and is now on lease to a friend of mine - I would oneday like to possibly buy him (he is owned by my boss, who runs the riding school which I am Team Manager at).

This is a picture of when I first started riding Yes, horrible I know .
(I have another *worse* picture but it is not on this computer)

This was us in our last few rides together before he left for his new home

I, too, was late to the horse world! I'm 23 and only just bought my first horse last year, after only 4 years of weekly riding lessons under my belt.

Best decision ever. Super, super temperament, forgiving yet willing. With him being an Andalusian cross, he literally is my dream horse! He is 7 years old. =)
