First Horse of My Own
It isn't my first horse ever since I have ridden and leased horses for years, but now I am actually getting my own horse. I am excited, overwhelmed, and about a million other feelings. Me and my trainer are going out tomorrow to see my potential new gelding and I just wanted to share my excitement with other horse lovers.

Woohoo! Just remember, even if you fall in love with the first gelding, go look at at least two more to make sure you aren't having horse lovers syndrome...its too easy to want to just snatch up the first one you see when you go looking for your first horse!

I just wanted to share my exciting news. I have my new gelding at the ranch. He came in today and I stayed out far later than I should have, but I swear he is just perfect for me. It really was love at first sight. I had looked at a few but after I met him I just had this feeling about him. His name is Jasper and he is a 12 year old, 17 hand thoroughbred. He is such a sweet horse. I am thrilled that we seem to mesh so well.

Gah I plan on it! I was so excited to have him out there finally. Today he just met the herd and we explored the property together. He came from a home that had very expensive show horses and he was the "cheap" horse that anyone could ride even if they didn't know how to ride. We have to work on neck reigning and ground manners, but then I intend on him being my trail buddy.

I took a ton of pictures today and I am sure that when I go out tomorrow morning I will take even more. I don't really know anything about TB conformation but there is something about him that I just can't get enough of.
