Fourth of July Parade Ideas

Hey Guys,

Okay so the paint horse I have talked about in other posts is now mine and my grandmother and I have entered the fourth of July parade. Our theme is freedom great or small and I would like to emphasize the fact that they are both beautiful paints and that paints are a great way show your freedom of thought and such. My grandmother will not be walking but leading her little pony and I will be riding my horse either bareback or on and english saddle.

P.S. I would like to stay away from those "Horse Safe" paints and hoof die because it's going to be hot and I don't want them to be miserable.

Please Help!

Without involving paint or expensive new tack all I can think of is ribbons and coordinating clothes. Doesn't have to be solid red white and blue but could be stars or red/white stripes or any combo. Walmart probably has cheap rolls of patriotic ribbon. You could even temporarily cover your browband with ribbon or fabric, maybe even some matching ribbon reins if you feel safe on your horse with them. Of course your clothes should match the colors.
If not that then rig up some colonial soldiers costumes, brown knee pants, blousey white shirt, vest, toy muskets. Horse would probably go natural but you might find some old leather bags at a Second hand store and make some saddlebags out of em. You could google 1776 patriot soldiers and see what they were outfitted with.

You could also do red/white/and blue feathers in the manes and tails.
