Just a question about riding pants for distant trail riding. I need something for padding in my rump. (Sorry this is a dumb question) But I know everyone here always gives me great information. Thank you all,
Carol
I wear normal riding pants... actually my favorite 'riding' pants are from Hollister (BUT I found these wear out quicker the hard way... split right down the middle)
If you're worried about padding look at one of those padded or gel seat savers, OR get a really nice foam memory saddle (circle Y's felt amazing!)
Hmmm... you could always try the padded undies. Tons of names for them like : bubble buns, caboost!, Tush Cush
Here's some examples. No recommendation on purchasing from this site. Just reference. Padded Undies
I think a padded seat cover is probably the easiest way to go. Sheepskin is nice. There are also gel options. Of those, I like the impact gel version.
I have recently invested in a pair of riding tights and they are amazing! I noticed an immediate difference in comfort for the longer rides versus my regular riding breeches. They do not have a cushioned buttom, but theya re way more comfortable overall. If you need a seat cushion I would look into a fleece or wool seat cover. The gel ones I ahve found to get hard after a while.
