Got to visit my horse!

I will give the back story first I suppose. I am stationed in Kodiak, AK with the USCG and Tinkerbell lives in Oregon. Mostly because it is significantly cheaper to keep her down here, particularly now while I'm pregnant and probably shouldn't be riding a fairly green horse anyway! So here she will stay until we get further word on our future. As a result I only get to see her about once a year! Sigh, but at least she is in part time training so she doesn't just sit in a stall.

She has come very far in her training even with it being fairly intermittent and limited. She still has her quirks, but I would consider her started and she really just needs miles and some ironing out of some quirks and problems. She has developed considerable patience when standing tied (she used to have....none). Picks up her feet without anybody even having to touch them (and her feet are GORGEOUS btw, she had some misshaping problems on one when I first got her back but that has since cleared up and I am very proud of her hard little barefoot feet.) She is working on smoothing out her transitions, especially trot-canter and canter-trot. She likes to go fast! Here's a video (there is a series of them if you are interested) where she is working on trailer loading.

I am hoping I can get someone (my brother I suppose since my husband didn't make this trip) to help me bathe her later this week and take some more pics! She is such a beautiful, sweet girl. I really just wish I could be the one working with her all the time!
