The great escape

So last week I got a call at 10 am that Penny was in the neighbors yard eating her grass..I go get her and apologize. She lifted the the gate up off of it's hinged and moved it to get out. So I put her back up and fix the gate (tying it up so she can't get it off again), and I get a call this morning at 3 am from the neighbor down the road saying Penny was in her yard (we have very close nice neighbors so nobody was being rude about it). As i go to walk down the road to get her she comes running back to me and me and my boyfriend go to see how she got out this time and she learned how to get the back gate off..so needless to say I am having to figure out a way to keep her from lifting the gates up and escaping.

Just turn the top pin down....

bottom pin up so you can rest the gate on it....

Top pin down so she can't pull the gate up....and off the pin.

I don't have any advice but this post did make me smile. Sounds like she's quite crafty! At least you know she's smart haha

Besides the top pin facing down, all our gates to the outside world have 2 chains on them. LOL

Yes. All our gates are chained and fastened with some sort of snap bolt. Years of having smart and talented horses have taught me that latches, ropes, etc are no match for the curiously creative horse.
