Heartbroken

We're coming down to the last week and a half before we move to Indiana and we still can not find a house on enough land that is fenced so we can take our horses. The boarding facilities around where we're moving to (because of the Army not by choice) charge around $300 per horse and that doesn't include feeding. We can't afford that.

Which means I can't take my horses. I don't know what to do. I don't want to sell them or give them away but I know I'm being selfish. I need to find them good homes and fast but I'm crying just thinking about not seeing them everyday. I can barely stand to think of not seeing them ever again.

I don't know what to do.

Is there any hope that it might just be a short-term issue and you "could" find a place with more time to look? (being a military family here, I understand completely about the time crunch issue)

Would keeping just one horse be an option you could afford?

Possibly. I guess I hadn't thought of that.

I'm going to talk to my husband about taking Carolina with us. The house we have found and hopefully can get, has a full care boarding facility with a trainer, riding facilities, etc on the spot. One horse I know we can afford to board.

Maybe you could find someone where you are now to board the other horse until you have a chance to settle in at the new place. Once you are in the neighbourhood you may find you have more options than what you can find from a distance.

Keep looking for other places. Ask around if you can because I know I have taken horses in short time boarding for a few $ and feeding was included. Maybe you can leave them somewhere where you are now and bring them later. Don't give up looking I know what you mean about not being able to see them again. I tear up just thinking about it.
Hope all works out for you.
Best wishes.
Hugs L.

I meant to say the boarding facility was nearby, only 15 minutes.
