Horse buying woes, a little frustrated.

In the area I live there isn't a wide variety of the type of colt I am looking for so I have widen my search across state lines. No big deal, I don't mind the driving if the horse is worth looking at. Planned on trying to coordinate it all into one big trip rather than several trips. I have several prospects I am looking at- some at breeding facilities, who have been great and very helpful as far providing information, pictures and videos. As they should be it's there business/livelihood but I imagine it gets tiresome with the "tire kickers".
Most of the private sellers have been great as well, again with providing information promptly. I understand it is hard to answer every email when everyone has busy lives or they get tired of the "tire kickers" so I m not expecting sellers to drop everything that they are doing just to answer an email from me. I assume after a few days if I haven't heard anything after initial contact that they have probably decided not sell or the horse is already sold. I have had people respond saying "hey- we are on vacation, but as soon as we get home back to the computer I will send you pictures/videos". I thought that was very nice and I always thank them for their time and effort to do so. I know I appreciate it as I am selling a horse right now.

I have one colt that I am very interested in. I really like the breeding on both sides. It seems you see a lot of horses bred nicely on the top side but mediocre on the bottom.
Private seller, about 5 hours drive for me to come take a look. The ad claimed that they would send videos for serious buyers that were farther away. They had sent me pictures, not that great but a few so at least I could get an idea. Asked for a video I got a 15 second, grainy cell-phone video of him trotting, buck fart, kick.(not under saddle. long yearling) Okay fine.
I email asking when I could come see him(trying to fit him into my big circle of a trip).
Response says a family member is hauling horses to my town and could throw him in the trailer and drop by my place to look at him.
I give phone number so we could solidify plans.(they have not giving me a phone number to reach them)
Heard nothing.
Night before the horse is to show up I email and ask what the plan is.
Response says plans have been pushed back they were actually traveling with someone else. Fine, I understand, plans change especially when traveling with others but maybe a phone call, text or an email?
I email back and say, no big deal if they decide to come through this way let me know. If not I will still be coming that way and would like to look at him.
Hmmm, I wonder why your colt is still for sale after a couple of months and the price keeps dropping but the ad claims they need the money and don't have the time for him?
Maybe there is something wrong with him and it's a blessing in disguise?
Either way it's pretty frustrating....

Anyhow just needed to whine a little...and kudos for reading- cold Bud Light for you!
If you want to whine with me, tell me to pull up my big girl britches and get over it or share your horse buying/selling woes go for it :)
