Stef, feel free to upload the videos you got of you two in the O/F classes!
Met up with Stefanie (HITS) at a hunter show yesterday and had a blast! The show was absolutely HUGE, so the same class that went off at 11 am last fall at the same show didn't start until 7 at night. It was nuts! Having gotten there before 8 in the morning, we let Sandy and Excel graze for most of the day in the shade.
Waiting by the arena, the dust was insane. Could barely see my horse
A few shots of him by the trailer in the morning:
Then I got incredibly bored waiting and braided him for the heck of it:
Stef showed first with Sandy in the Limit Rider 2' and did excellent for their first show! Pics:
Then Excel and I went in our Novice 2'3" division, no pictures but Stef got some good videos. I was surprised that he got most of his correct leads when going over a jump, but on the flat he almost never picks up his right-hand lead:
In the Under Saddle and Eq classes, he was practically perfect until I asked for the right lead. Eventually I stopped bringing him to trot and trying it again because he was getting upset after not getting it multiple times in a row:
omg I make some of the stupidest faces in competition LOL!!! I look so constipated! HAHAH! Thanks for taking all the pics, I don't have my good videos yet (my friend is putting them onto a flash drive, she took them with her nice camera!) but I do have these from my iphone:
I really wish someone would have told me that I forgot to snip the threads that hold the hunt coat flaps together since I just bought it LOL!!! Bubble butt anyone?!
No problem! I had a blast. Aww, thanks . LOL, yeah, I think the dust might've been a little much for her. I'm watching the jumping trips again, and geez, I make my 16.2hh TB look tiny!
Yes, he's somewhat underweight right now. He gets half a bale of quality hay a day, 3 qts of SafeChoice and 3 qts of beet pulp three times a day, and great grass for at least four hours a day. I'm having the vet out to give me advice next week, actually, as he lost weight over the winter and doesn't seem to be gaining it back.
Thanks everyone and yeah I second that Excel looks to be in good weight to me! He's healthy and very shiny! he might be a little bit ribby but sounds like you've got a good handle on it! Posted via Mobile Device

Thanks! We've been meaning to do some hunter paces together, but two summers ago Excel's hoof abscessed so we had to take the fall season off, and last year a lot of the HPs got rained out.
Ps now I feel bad Sage, the women who kept coughing apparently has been to multiple specialists and they can't figure out what's wrong with her, I guess she coughs like that all the time involuntarily Posted via Mobile Device

On a brighter note...Sage, you have an iphone right?! Or some sort of smartphone that plays vids? Can you copy the videos from your camcorder to your phone and take some still shots? (or if you can't, I'll see what I can do with youtube!) So that I can do some stuff to them like this ;-)
Nope, I've got a little at&t Pantech . Nice editing, though!
