All of the breed registries keep track of horses that are registered with them. The problem may come from the fact that the current owner hasn't registered the horse in their name. My current horse is an AQHA registered gelding that I've owned for the past 7 or 8 months but I haven't transfered the papers to my name yet. If you were looking for my horse, the AQHA would direct you to his past owner.
In some instances, a horse can be sold many times without owners registering the horse in their name. That being a possibility, then it can be near impossible to trace the horse until someone files the transfer papers.
I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
It's not always what you say but what they hear.
