Horse shopping again.

Found another prospect last week. A brown and white paint mare. Stands only 12 hands high. But unlike all the others we’ve looked at, this one is not skin and bones. Said to be about 10 years old.

The seller had a kid ride it for me, so I know it will accept a rider. They are also the first people I’ve met here who actually own a head stall and bit.

Down side is the feet are in bad shape. Though I saw no indication of lameness. And it is aggressive. It tries to intimidate any new person who handles it.

I think we will go for it. They are asking a reasonable price. This one will require more intense work than our other little horse.

I doubt that anyone has ever picked up the feet. I will have to slowly get them into shape.

I don’t think I see any signs of founder. Only too much growth from lack of trimming.

I think that's a cute pony! Sure there is some work to be done, but as long as you can do it then why not?

I don't see any major issues with the feet and she seems to be stockier than the little mare you have - I like her over all.

I like her. Those feet will be fine in a couple of trims. She's nice and sturdy.

She's a cutie. If the price is right, grab her.

Very cute pony I'd snatch her up. Can fix those feet with some trimming.

I like her too and agree with the others, I think some good trimming will fix up those feet.

Let us know how things go with the purchase, hoping she will be yours soon.

After many false starts, we have an appointment with a transporter to pick up the horse on Saturday, the 6th. We’ll see how it goes.

I rather doubt it. Probably grass belly and parasites. Plus she’s said to be 10 years old. Folks try to charge more for a pregnant animal. I guess they figure the buyer is getting 2 for 1.

Once she’s settled in here, I’ll give a dose of ivermectin.
