Hey guys! I haven’t posted anything in forever so I guess it’s time for a little update on all the horses. If you have any tips for training, equestrian development or more please don’t hesitate to comment on this post! <3
Earlier this summer I posted about his canter, balance and difficult lead changes. We took him to the vet to see if there was anything wrong with him. He was later diagnosed with hock inflammation. We had him treated with joint injections, and I haven’t ridden him for a couple weeks now. We’re going to see the vet in a few days to see when I can get back on him. Currently we’re just focusing on getting him better and making sure there’s no relapses.
For my green mare there’s not been a lot of changes. I’m just doing weekly dressage with her, trying to get her more controllable in canter/over jumps. I’m still the only one in my family who rides her (my family is not that experienced) and I’d like to one day see my sister/mom on her. All though I don’t think the bucking is coming to an end anytime soon, hah!
With Anchor I’ve been focusing more on jumping. This is not really to improve him but rather to push myself to jump higher than 100 cm. When I was in a riding school, my trainer didn’t really focus on jumping (if we jumped it was only around 60-70 cm) so when I got Anchor it was a slow process trying to make myself try higher jumps.
Fun fact: I recently put my beginner friend on him and he was really good! Normally I don’t have my friends on him since he is a very energetic horse and don’t usually respond well to beginner riders.
Ugh.. where do I even start?! I’ve been getting more frustrated with her lately since she gets so strong when she canters. I can control her but I wish I didn’t have to try so hard to get her to slow down after landing a jump or just cantering around the arena. I think it’s very important however to stay patient and I will.
Not much happening, he’s just a sweet little man.
I’ve been trying to push myself to compete more dressage with her. But I’m literally so scared of the dressage ring. I’m trying to push myself because she is the most talented horse I own. There’s also not a lot of shows near I live.
Thank you for reading!
Let me know if you think I should post more updates/story times with the horses.
