I hadn't had a horse of my own in almost 17 years so I was real nervous when I went out to see Lillie. I wasn't sure what I would feel but when I saw her, I just KNEW I had to have her. She was perfect.

Lyric on other hand, is a different story. I went out to buy a paint that I saw when I had gotten Lillie months before. Turns out when I saw the paint, I just KNEW she wasn't the one. So luckily my friend gave me a tour of her place and all the horses. I had previously turned down Lyric in photos..but when I saw her in person, I knew she had to be the one. I love both of my horses so very much!! I don't regret either of my decisions.

I had a gut feeling with Bear. I didnt see fireworks and I knew I was going to have to work, but so far it has been well worth it. I had a week to decide if I wanted him or he was going to be a theriputic riding horse. I didnt get a vet check and I didnt care. Some people think im crazy for not getting a vet check and getting an underweight bag-o-bones, but im happy with him. =]

You can never take a Thoroughbred away from a horse crazy girl.

I didn't know that T was the "one" until after I had shown her to perspective buyers for the BO.

After dismounting and handing the reins over to the people there to try her, I had to go into the barn. I couldn't bear to watch.

My girl ( and it was at that exact moment that I thought of her as my girl) was all hollowed out and tossing her head. Not the same horse I had just ridden.

Fortunately for me (and T), the BO refused the buyers and told me that T belonged to me. It took a year and a half before I could buy her because my husband was out of work and going to school.

But, she eventually was purchased and came home with me along with her last foal, I'd Walkamile.

True story and happy ending. Or , happy beginning!

Funny story about my soulmate horse, Ricci. I met her because her previous owner hired me to get her back in shape and tune her up to be sold. I rode Ricci for about three months, and hated her guts. I don't know why, but she just made me so angry and frustrated, I was only doing it for the money.

But as time passed, I started not hating her, then was kinda apathetic, then I kinda liked her, and before I knew it, I was head over heels in love with her, and bought her.

Sure, there are times when it's "love at first sight," but that's not the only way you get a good horse. Ricci completes me, and she makes me happy on a level that no friend, boyfriend, or parent ever will.

I will be forever grateful that I stuck with her though, and didn't bail out when I didn't like her. Buying Ricci was the best thing I've ever done.
