Well, I'm pretty sure that the absolute basics such as feed are "needs" I mean, I guess you could argue they are only wants because I don't "want" to have her starve, but that would just be silly.

"Needer", definitely. Even if I think I need something, I still end up spending a day or two thinking it over, checking reviews, and looking for a more cost-effective alternative. (Unless it's something that's an immediate need, like vet bills and such, obviously. :p)

Agreed. I have a limited income but lucky for me Caleigh is an easy keeper and the barn owner is a family friend.
I was brought up leaning how to save though. My parents didn't want me to see no value to money and made me save every penny I found unless it was limited birthday funds and even 10% of that was put away.
If it's a good price though my local tack store has the option to make a wishlist and sometimes for a loyal customer if they're having a sale they'll send out birthday certificates for the horse for a certain amount off or buy one get one free on little things.

Lots of research and reviews
Took me forever to find her a copper middle french link bit and I still haven't ordered it. I'm waiting to see if my local tack shop ends up with one. lol.

I buy "needs." I buy "wants" only when I come into extra cash, like after my birthday or Christmas. And I'm never a "spender."

Interesting topic. =D

I'm mostly a needer, but whenever I get extra cash from birthdays and Christmas and whatnot, I splurge on horse supplies. I love indulging my horses with things they like (i.e., treats, Likits, Jolly Balls, etc.). Yeah, my money never lasts long. My boys have me wrapped around their little hoofies. Heehee...
