Oxer, I'm thinking his reactiveness his and spookiness is being mistaken for energy, a lot of the time it's mental energy and not physical energy you are seeing. It took me six months of fairly hard working my horse to get him to the point of working hard for half an hour and only having him break a sweat at the girth. Leg him up as best you can or pull back on classes as you've already said you would. Good luck:)

sounds like you did far too much for him.

My horses do a maximum of 3 Ridden classes each when very fit. Jumping it would be a max of 2 classes. Much more will make horses stale quite quickly.

RIDE your horse FORWARDS and keep him STRAIGHT

it also sounds to me like is fitness has plateaued, no longer moving, as you only work him 1hour? every day. you need to increas his work amount for his fitness to increase

Why is he not getting turned out? That is a huge part of the problem. Horses are not made to stand in a stall all day. Even if they only get 30 minutes of turn out a day its better then nothing.
