Why not? If you don't have a car/license, bike riding is a fantastic way to get around to and from jobs! Go to your bank and set up an appointment with an account manager and talk about savings options; different types of accounts will have different rates of return, and you can even start up a small investment account with a small sum of money. You can invest money into a safe dividend that will pay more interest per annum than even the 'highest' savings accounts out there, which are sitting at about 1%/annum at the moment. Once you have a savings account, pay yourself first. promise yourself a set percentage that you have to put away each time you earn money, and do not touch it until you're at your goal.

I have a savings account. I have $100.00 dollars in it. Bike riding to a 30 minute mall? I think not

I don't even have a bike

I don't understand what's so wrong about having to bike a half hour to work- I assume that's what you were trying to say? Transit? You're really limiting yourself by saying 'only within 10 minutes from home.' If you really want to start making some cash, you have to put yourself out there. If you don't, that's fine too. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

You are correct there isn't anything wrong with it. I just perfer to not have myself killed. I would rather be safe in my car then on a bike going down service roads by myself.

I mean there are a ton of places around myself I have applied everywhere. I just ment small stuff like stuff to do with horses or something.

I talked with coach shes gonna let me wrk around the barn for more ride time if I pay for a weekly lesson as well :)

Wait to get a horse. Concentrate on school. Get a job when you are done school.

I wish my parents could pay for me to go to school, but I have to pay for it myself.....

There is no way that in this job market that you will get a job with your attitude. You are not willing to ride a bike for 30 mins to get there and you are competing against people trying to support their families, who would walk over broken glass for 30 mins.

I have never been without a job for less than 4 days, I am not exceptional, I have no particular skills, but I will work and I will do whatever it takes to have a job, as I need one.

I think it might benefit you to find a job at whatever sacrifice you have to make, and get some money behind you BEFORE you buy a horse.

AlexS:

I am not having an attitude its more the fact that I don't have a bike to ride to a job thats 30 minutes its more along the lines. I can work anywhere around in my area thats close by. I perfer it that way I can get a job 1 way or the other but I been looking for a JOB since August I had a job. But it was summer only.

I am working again at the summer camp. I am also gonna be hearing back from a possible job at PETSMART if you did not read that post. I won't even have to buy the horse I just wanna make money to pay for lessons or so I can go shopping or what ever. I mean I dont think I really need a job my parents say its okay if i dont since school is way more important to me at the moment.

I dont shorten myself towards a job I told my mom I need to apply everywhere. I am gonna apply at every restraunt as a hostess or maybe even a Waitress.

But for now I need to wait and see if I get this job at petsmart. ;)

The places I had interview for Child care they need someone who isnt in school =/

but what ever my parents can drive me. :)

good thing.
