Amen to that! I volunteer at a therapeutic riding program, and there's one particular therapy horse named MaRani, or Moe. This horse is a spitfire! She took two riders through their A-Level Pony Club ratings, and is HOT to ride. But when these disabled kids and adults get around her, she is the most quiet, sweet, patient animal that you would ever know.
When leading her, she'll sometimes prance and pull on you a bit, but when one of the riders is leading her, she walks slowly and patiently. I swear, it's amazing. And the horse who will spook at a truck and trailer going by while doing dressage work will walk quietly and patiently with a screaming autistic child aboard. :3
They really do know!
The hills were bathed in moonlight, the shadows not so stark;
Silver light reflected off his brown hide as he held me in the dark
– I love you, Mudpie!
