I have pulled potential buyers off a horse, told them that the horse is still for sale to them but they won't be riding the horse until they paid for it. Most looked at me like I had 10 heads, & I said your riding skills are annoying the horse and if don't buy him/her, I am stuck with an annoyed animal. Learned this from a trainer I apprenticed with and believe it or not, some people still will buy the horse! Of course you must be prepared to sell the horse if that is the case....

I would have been entirely offended.
In fact, I've had people say the same thing to me before with good hearts and good intentions and my horse is not very educated yet, she's still very young and needs training, but it still hurt my feelings and I was actually crying over it.
But that's not the point. They're wrong, it's as simple as that. People don't know what they're talking about. It's your horse, you get the say.

Personally..I let the previous owners of my horse know that I'd be bringing a friend with to look at the mare and we would both be riding.
If someone didn't tell me they were bringing someone else to MY place, that's not okay. I'm glad I intend to have a fences entrance if I manage to get where I want in life.

When I sell Alahna, she will NOT go to Mr. Grabby Hands and Flailing Legs. She has to sell, but I'm not interested in selling her to someone she's going to take advantage of. She's one of the best horses I've worked with, but she has the potential to be a handful on the ground. That horse has my name on it as the person who trained it, I will not willingly sell her to someone that will more than likely get hurt by her so they can sell her on again and bad mouth my name.

I don't like how someone is riding, I will snatch the reins right out of their hands and (wishful thinking) shove them off my horse (after asking nicely of course).

I couldn't fathom selling a horse I put my heart and soul into..Which is exactly why I intend to buy ST back or possibly trade her a more "showy" horse.
