Most of the horse ads on CL are comical, but I got my TB mare on CL for $800 and she's an excellent dressage horse with the best temperament.

I think the horses on there are probably thankful to be rehomed to people with brains!

ummm...I asked the guy where in az he's located and he didnt answer (my email was a bit longer, with lots of q's bout the mare, so he probably didnt catch it). But I just googled his name...and it seems like he might..just might..be way out on the rez. His english seems a tad bit different (where I live the Dine language is still very rich and wide spread and spoken, espcially on the rez) so Im thinking he is on the rez.
Here was what he wrote. What do you think?

"if you are still interested, i have a young horse. she is 6-7 years old. an arab that is sorrel. she is a smaller horse, about 14 hh, never had a baby. she may be in-foal, too early to tell for me.
this horse was part of a package deal, one stud and four mares. all the horses are doing fine, but i feel that mustangs and appaloosas are the directions i am leaning towards. she is sweet, green broke, and very gentle, but is a little skittish. all she needs is more miles under saddle and a patient person. she has been ridden out on the mesas bareback and also ridden saddled. all our horses get turned out everyday into the hills and not into a pasture. so they are free to go whenever they want, but they choose to stay around. i think this why they choose to stay around. we feed them well, treat them good, and give them freedom, and some riding, but not enough.
this filly was bred to do shows as her mom was a grand champion showhorse. i tried getting her paperwork, but they don't have 'em anymore. so, she is a grade mare. you can tell she was bred well. she is smart, sweet, and has beautiful movement. i was going to keep her for my daughter, but the horse would be too much for her right now.
if you are offering her to a good home, i would sell her to you for $450. please contact me by email. thank you."
I highlight the word mesas..because we don't have mesas in close proximity to where I live. but on the rez theres alot of wide open country and mesas galore.
Also, the "shes registered but I dont have papers" IF that's actually true, and I find out what her full name is, and look her up on datasource, would it be possible for me to get her papers?

I think the papers are the least of your concerns. You are blinded by the fact that they say she is an "arab" , supposedly show quality, and $450. You seem to be losing site of the fact she may be pregnant, and is certainly NOT the "broke horse" you said you wanted. "Green broke" at best. So, IF you decide to get her (after you go see her, of course) I hope you have the extra $$ to get the trainer to make her the "broke horse" you wanted.....which still leaves her possibly pregnant.....

Sorry to do a "reality check" here, but you seem to have gone off into lala land....

Yes, as I was reading I was thinking "red flag, red flag, red flag". Don't get so carried away in wanting a horse NOW that you overlook what could be very important problems. It is much better to wait a bit longer than to settle for what could possibly be a big mess.

I've seen your ad :) Even considered replying, but my half arab is only two so definately not broke ;)

There are tons of horses broke for that price range if you consider other breeds (which I see you are), so I wish you luck! :) The reply you got to me sounds like a scammer, but who knows...

Poultry girl too bad you don't live near me, there's been a lady that has been advertising her 8 year old arab. Apparently due to financial reasons she has to give her up. They only want $800 for her.

Keep at it you'll find something.
