The first thing I Did after getting up was check the horse was okay, I was more worried about him than I was about me!

Thanks for the congrats! Now I'm scared haha, those all sounds so painful, but horse riding comes with risks and I'm willing to take them because honestly *not to sound cheesy* I'm a very negative person and riding just lifts my whole mood up, especially after a really good lesson :)

It's funny, but when I first got bit and stepped on it felt like part of an initiation. I haven't fallen yet (hopefully unscathed), but I guess that will complete my initial trifecta.

All kidding aside I'm glad you're okay and can view it as a rite of passage.

My very best to you

Congrats on the first fall, glad you came out in one piece- and standing! I came off standing quite a number of times when my horse went through his phase of spook so hard to the side that your rider is still in position when she lands on the ground. To this day I can't tell you how my horse gets across the arena so darn fast.

An "elegant" first fall. That's a rare thing! Enjoy. May all your falls be as easy. :)

Falling off from a trip is one of my fears while cantering Abby. She's speedy, hence my holding my reins tighter and not giving her enough rein and sometimes she trips. Thankfully I haven't come off yet. Although shes not that tall.

Glad you had a good fall and nobody was hurt.

Thanks guys haha! Rusty was a largeish horse, maybe 15.3 hh? I don't know, but it was fun! Although my thighs are killing me now (not because of the fall, but because of the workout I got) he was a bit lazier, so I had to push him on a lot!

That was a lucky one!
Maybe you are one of these ridiculously balanced fallers. I knew a woman who ALWAYS landed on her feet. Never seen anything like it. Her horse was a snot and chucked her at least once a week.

Wish my falls had been caught on camera!

Hahaha! I'm a ninja B-) I do train basketball, where my footwork is pretty snazzy, might have an influence :3

Yeah, if only I had such great balance when in the saddle /: I guess it shall come with time!

Yeah, I know a lady like that too! She gets bucked off all the time, and has never gotten hurt!

As I was reading your post I could almost see you land on your feet, raise your arms in the air and delcare, "Tadaa!!" LOL!! I'm glad that you have discovered the healing magic of horses, they are just as good for us mentally as physically :)
