I have to Brag on my Daughter
My daughter was in her fourth horse show yesterday (6 long hours in the sun and it was nearly 100 degrees!) and her horses 2nd. The last show they did together was over a year ago and he ran away with her and she left her last class in tears...Well, what a difference a year makes.
My brother, Lily and I (my brother and Lily mostly) put a solid foundation on this horse and then Lily and her trainer have been working on finishing him. Since Lily is learning to train, most of it has fallen to her with her trainers help and instruction. And what a good job she is doing. She did 6 classes yesterday and placed in all of them. Most of the classes were against adults who have been showing for years and the ones where it was for her age group (she is 13) she was in the top 3. In total she took 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 fifths and a sixth.
Now, its not about the ribbons (and she will be the first to say it) it is about the fact that she worked hard, set a goal, worked toward it and accomplished it. She found out how hard works pays off and she is bursting with pride for JJ and herself and I couldn't be happier for her. So anyway, I wanted to share and brag a little as I am so pleased with what she has accomplished. And now she has all winter to take him and her to the next step.
