You know, of all the clinicians out there right now, I think Buck is the only one that I'd actually pay money to go see.

Some folks might find him rude, but I really prefer that someone point out what they see wrong and make it clear instead of trying to sugar coat it for the sake of "sparing someone's delicate feelings". Sometimes feelings need to get hurt in order to make a person wake up and start to think.

I'd love to take old Big Red to a clinic and let him clump around LOL.

Smorbs, I totally agree with you. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people doing parelli with their horses, their horses are miserable, but because Parelli says anyone can do it, obviously anyone can do it. I'm just using parelli as an example because that's what one lady at the barn does, but same goes for any other trainer out there, but Buck tells you if it's beyond your scope. He encourages that you learn, but like you said he doesn't sugar coat things, or give fake praise just to make you feel better. I'd much rather have someone be blunt, and tell me I'm doing something wrong, and maybe have to go sit and take a breather for a minute and wrap my head around it, then have someone telling me I'm doing great, when I'm still having troubles, because then I'm not learning, I'm just repeating a mistake, and that's not going to help me or my horse at all.

One day I'm going to have enough saved up to go to one of his clinics! It's on my bucket list, for sure.

This one was $600 for participants and $30/day to watch. It's a lot of money, but that's 9 hours of instruction, which would cost me more than that with my trainer! I reeeeally want to do his Washington clinic next summer.
