Talking I was tossed today! :P

I know what your thinking, why the smiley face in the title? Well because this was like the most comfortable fall ever. Well I'll start from the start.
My barn imports horse's and we have a barn down the street that we use as an over flow barn/training barn that one of my trainers advanced students owns. She gives lesson's to young kids. :] Anyways Hammi was being used in another lesson so I went to the other barn to have my lesson with my trainer and I ended up riding an awesome huge grey mare named Athena, She was 17.1 and very big. Well I tacked up and started my warm up's and she was amazing like driving a Cadillac. She was SOOOO smooth. Well she's an older mare and she is a jumper but they're thinking about retiring her. Well she has spunk haha. Anyways she like to move fast over jumps. Well I was jumping a course and I came over the first one great turned to the left and went to take another jump and I guess I didn't set her up right or well I didn't give her, her strides and well she took the jump with one whole stride left. Needless to say I came out of my saddle haha. She cleared it by a lot I mean she soared over that jump well so did I and I landed on the ground haha. I almost stayed on but she ducked her head down and I just came off. It didn't hurt at all or anything . I got back on and did the course again and she rushed the last jump but the first and second jump were awesome, Are lead changes were PERFECT and are strides were right on but she got a little excited in the last turn and pushed through her bit. So I did it again and every jump was spot on. She did great. I'm really working on my lower leg but my trainer says its looking a lot better. Anyways other than my fall we had a great lesson and I hope to ride her again soon. :]

I had one of those the other day! Fell when my horse got a little dirty on the landing from a jump, but had an awesome lesson, ha ha.
Can't let one mistake/fall make it a bad ride!
:]

I give myself very good advice, But I very seldom follow it

Glad to hear you're ok, you made me giggle with the smiley face too. Glad you took the fall well and got back on. A great attitude like yours is what makes fantastic riders the way they are.
