Talking Im getting another horse!!!!

IM GETTING ANOTHER HORSE!!! IM GETTING ANOTHER HORSE!!! I am soooooo excited!!! Eeek!! Please excuse the caps and exclemation points, I am VERY excited!! Okay, *breathing, trying to calm down*, whew, okay, Im a smidge clamer now . All I know about him is that he is a 16.2 hand ottb gelding who injured his hip and is unable to race anymore. I don't know what his name is or how many races he has won but I know he raced at a major race park. I don't know alot about him but I will update as I learn more :). We are going to go see him in the next few days and hopefully we will get him Eeeek! I am soo pumped!!!

Thanks everyone, I will most definatly post pics!!! I am hoping to get some race pics too . He had to stop racing because of a hip problem but do you think he could still be a jumper? The guy said that he is ok to ride he just couldn't race anymore. Not sure though if "ok to ride" just means general riding or ok to do anythink but his hip made him to slow to race. Hmmm.

He can maybe be good for Dressage? He doesn't need to use his hip that much.

before doing any riding or anything like that i would have ur vet out to check him and possibly a chiropractor as well

Well, my dad talked to his owner today. Aparrently, he damaged some growth plates in his hip(hmm, maybe from BEING FORCED TO RACE AT A DEAD GALLOP FOR A MILE OR MORE AT 2-3 YEARS OLD!?! ugh!) and so he is very heavy on the forehand when he runs. He also has ulcers but thats normal for an ottb. He has been to an orthepedic vet and he said that he can do everything besides race but it's too painful for him to race and he doesn't do well. He can w/t/c/g and jump though(though I may see about getting a chiro out before we start jumping). It turns out, his regular vet is the vet we use :).

My new boys name is Vision of Paradise and he is a 4 year old, solid dark bay, gelding. He is out of A Story Told by Vision and Verse. He has 15 starts with 1 win, 1 place, and 1 show. He has been off the track for about a month now(his last race was 11/12/10) and has been out to pasture in that time. I watched some replays of his races and he runs pretty fast! Just not fast enough I suppose, not that I blame him with an injury. He is very pretty though I can't wait to get him . We will get him in January so in the meantime we are going to fix a stall for him(it was a chicken coop, so we have to widen the doorway and take off the door. Fix up the inside a bit, you know). I think I'm gonna get a piture of him crossing the finish line and make it into a skin-it for my wall, lol!

Early January, hopefully. His trainer has him right now(he is just out to pasture though), so the guy who owns him has to bring him back to his place. The wait is killing me though!
