Jeans in or out?

I know it looks rather stupid, but I've always worn my jeans tucked in while riding. Seems like no matter what kind I get they end up riding up and it drives me insane. I also feel like it protects the jeans a bit more when I'm going out on the trails, as what might rip my jeans will only leave a scratch on my boots.

So my question is, does anyone else ride with their jeans tucked in or are you all jeans out type of people?

I prefer my jeans tucked in for all the reasons you've stated.

Depends on the height of my boots and the style of jeans I wear. If I know I'm going to have to work around the barn a few hours before I'll be able to ride, I'll wear bootcut jeans and my work boots. If I'm just going to ride (English) I'll wear skinny jeans under my half chaps, so technically tucked in.

I forgot to mention I'm riding Western.

Not that it matters- still interested to hear!

Mine are always tucked in because there is so much dust and sand from the arena that gets into my jeans. I wipe it off my boots at the end of the day. Otherwise all that dust is going to cause trouble with the clothes washer at home. I shake them and slap the legs together before washing to get as much dust out as possible.

I wear mine in for three reasons
1. It looks good. I spent $250 on these ariots. I want them seen
2. My jeans end up sliding up when I ride if they're not tucked in
3. I don't want my jeans dirty. If it's muddy out and I have to go grab my horse from her turn out I don't want my jeans brushing the mud.

I usually have mine in.
It usually bugs me if they are tucked in because then there is always this one spot that has more pressure than another and it just irritates my leg.

When I am bebopping around the farm in my Justins I wear my jeans tucked in them because I'm lazy but when I ride, I pull my jeans over my boots. I've never had a problem with my jeans riding up....

Depends on the height of my boots. With shorter boots, my jeans are always out, but with taller boots, my they are always tucked (Mostly because I am super short and my tall boots look funny under my jeans, lol). I've never had an issue with jeans riding up.

Strength lies within the heart but the strength to trust lies between the horse and his rider.

Glad I'm not the only one!

I feel like everyone else I see wears their jeans out, but I guess it's just a comfort thing.
