Is it just me?

Or do we all sport various bruises, scrapes, and cuts constantly as a result of our equine love? At this moment I have two cuts on my leg from cutting bailing wire and it snapping loose when the pressure was released, a good size slice on my knuckle(no clue where that came from), multiple scratches from riding too close to thorns on my arms, and at least 5-7 bruises in various stages of blackness on my legs, lol. It's worth it of course, but it would be nice to be able to wear a dress without people wondering if I've been in a fight recently!

Well I have permanently manky feet from having several toes broken and having dislocated both big toes at least once. My little toes don't even grow toenails anymore, sure makes it hard to wear open toed shoes with any sense of pride!!

All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Oh man, it's me too. Just last week I got stinging nettle all up my arm! I've always got cuts and bruises and half the time I have no clue where they came from.

Nope, you're not the only one. I showered in someone else's trailer over the weekend. When I did last night at home in good light (lol), I noticed a scratch beside my right eye. It goes from my eyebrow to my cheek bone. Don't know exactly how or when I got it, but it has to be from riding this past weekend. Not to mention the pain I feel on cool rainy days like today from all the bones I've broken over the years.

Honary "HFA" member...That's right, I'm admitting it!

BTW....That's NOT rain on your windshield!!!!

Good to know it's not just me! I admit I'm clumsy and I've been told I'm a danger to myself, lol, but in the last 5 years I have only worn shorts a handfull of times because I look like some form of paint;p. Maybe Tobiano?

LOL, Injuries just come along with horses and the outdoors! So totally worth it though! I don't think I"m that accident prone as some of you on here, since I've never broken a bone (which is actually pretty amazing, because once my horse stepped on my HAND after all fall, with his horseshoe on, and it was on PAVEMENT). I've gotten bitten, kicked, scratched, pulled off the horse by my sister while riding double... but it's totally worth it, and I miss it now that I don't have access to any horses. I'll take the bruises if it gets me another horse!

You forgot one thing though - rough, calloused barn hands!

i used to get bruises all the time. I think i'm a clutz though.. but whose fault is that, mine. ;) I really think anyone with a love for the outdoors has that problem though. But between the barn and my obnoxious cat i never fail to have some sort of a bruise or cut.

You're funny. I carry over 50 inches worth of surgical scars all over my body from injuries that were caused by horses I kid you not, your average human being would probably be horrified of what I carry around every single day.

Your passion is your passion. What you look like, or what you've had done should not matter to anyone, nor is it any of their business.

If you're not carrying scars from something, you haven't played hard enough
