I have two horses at home, yes, one does get a bit "whiny" when the other one leaves, but the one left behind has to suck it up. I may go to a two day show, the other horse, which happens to be the sire of my show horse, has to stay alone for a few days, he survives just fine. When I take one trail riding off the property, like I did today, the one left at home, stands in the corner of the paddock and screams like a girl for a while. Neither one act up leaving the other horse at home, I don't put up with nonsense while riding and they seem to respect that.

I am not here to promote anythingNo, that's not true, I am here to promote everything equestrian and everyone enjoying horses!

That's OK as long as you don't have a horse that jumps out and follows you - I have two here that think nothing of jumping from one field to another if they feel like it or taking themselves into the barn

Would maybe getting a few goats to keep the alone horse company help you think? Or would the horse still just want its horse companion?

Haha I hate goats! I thought about getting a mini, but my mare is very very bossy and I wouldn't want the mini to kick her leg. It will be fine when I move my other guy home, but that may not be for a year or two. I will just have to see how it goes I guess!
