It is the things like this, that make me so cautious with horses.

I am the first one to comment on how stupid I think various things are, that others think is "showing how trained my horse is"...walking up steps with metal railings for instance, or standing on horse lunging another one, or any assortment of things that are all the rage right now.

But to me? The horse walking up steps with metal handrails, is only a misstep away from slipping and running handrails through heartgirth, the one standing on one horse lunging another in an arena to boot, is one misstep away from getting drug and horses both tangled up in lunge line and possibly getting killed.

And the current bridleless/tackless craze makes me shudder.

You can never say something won't happen....and the worst thing is having to put a horse down because of something that could have been prevented. Horses do enough stupid things on their own without humans helping them.
