I haven't tried other brands, but my Abetta saddle is perfect for what I wanted it for. It came with the options I wanted (lightweight, Arabian tree, no saddle horn) and it's comfy and been through several long trail rides. If you have the option of trying out a few brands that would be ideal, but I took a shot in the dark with Abetta and I have no regrets. :)

I rode in a big horn today for the first time, and it was comfy, and I carried it with one hand. But... When I made.the horse I was riding canter, it threw my legs forward something awful.

I have a wintec, and it mades my legs go forward at a canter. What about the Abetta? Does it let you sit in a correct riding position?

I like a deap seat or one that I feel secure in! He is pretty small, so I want an easy, light saddle that doesn't have a lot of up keep. Thanks for all the suggestions! Also, saddle pad suggestions that are not too bulky put still padded would be great! Thanks! :)
Well comfy is a figure of speech. I know wintec makes synthetic saddles but I dont know that I would qualify them as comfy. I think you should take a look online or at your local tack store to try a few. I've always liked synthetic saddles, but western ones can never really be made to be that comfy as far as Im concerned.
