Look what my son bought for me!

I work in a political office and my old boss lost her re-election. The new admin came in in January and asked me to stay but cut my salary in half. I had to sell my Buckskin, the horse I've wanted all my life, because I couldn't afford to feed him.

I've been grieving for him for 2 months. My son came home last Saturday and surprised me with this Paint. He is dead broken, friendly, gets along with my son's horses, loads, bathes, etc. He's very stocky but has been on the pasture and has a grass belly.

I really want to say I'm happy for you, but if you couldn't afford your buckskin why would he get you a paint?

Either way, he's cute. What's his name?

He didn't want me to sell the Buckskin but like I said, I couldn't afford to keep him.

He bought the Paint for me and is going to take care of him till I can get back on my feet. He's paying for food and upkeep.

I'm hoping to sell my house in the next month and I'll be able to take over caring for him.

Ah I understand now. You are lucky to have a son willing to do that. :)

Good luck with him! :) what are your plans for him?

He's beautiful!

What a lovely son you raised for him to do something like that.

Thanks! Yes, my son is awesome.

The Buckskin was green broken and spooky and I haven't ridden much in the last 30 years. He was afraid I would get hurt so he wanted me to get rid of him. He was a very sweet horse that followed me around like a puppy dog but very green.

When I had to sell him, my son was happy for that reason but told me if I sold him he would buy me another horse. I didn't really think he would do it.

As happy as I am to have him, it bothers me that my son has to pay for him and his up keep. I begged him to bring the horse back (it came from a friend of his) but he won't.

It's really hilarious. A few of my son's friends have come by to ride him to make sure he's calm enough for me. Mother hens. LOL

The Farrier/trainer came over and rode him through the ditch with tall grass in it, up on the metal car trailer, stood on him, rode double, yelled, acted crazy on him, shot a rifle around him and then while on him. He passed all the tests with flying colors.
