If you are looking for a specific horse, to do a specific discipline and don't have a huge budget, it might take a while. My daughter was looking for a horse who would do WP/HUS (shown, not just a prospect), and had a budget of $10,000 which is a good chunk of change. She found a few but all didn't meet her requirements during the PPE, she had spent over $600 on PPE's. After 7 months she found a horse and bought him without ever seeing him in person, she did have the vet film the PPE, which met her requirements. She says he is perfect for what she wants & glad she didn't settle on something that was less. Hang in there.

I agree. A good horse is priceless! Better to wait it out then rush into buying something just to have it. When the horse is right you'll know! Have you tried expanding your horizons. In a few years I'll be on the hunt for my first horse and I know there aren't many reiners in the surrounding area. I'm willing to travel pretty far for the right one. I'd rather shell out a few extra bucks then settle for a horse who was in a move comvient location!

words to live by I live by.. Positive creates Positive. No I know we can't do that 100% of the time but I learned this weekend If I stay positive while helping a friend in need who has lost all hope. It helped he focus on the good and the problem got solved. Keep your chin up. The reason you have not found your horse is because the right one is out there and you will know when you meet him/her

Don't Flatter yourself Cowboy I was looking at your Horse

I feel your pain OP. Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I finally bought my horse (yay!)- I looked for about 5 or 6 months before finding him, and it was purely by chance as he wasn't advertised anywhere. Sevreal months before him, I thought I had found "the one" and brought another horse home on trial, but she didn't pass the PPE.

Hang in there. It's well worth waiting for the right horse.

Have you tried talking to pleasure trainers? There's a western pleasure mare in my barn that I know isn't being advertised except by word of mouth. I would find trainers and ask if they know of any horses for sale honestly.
