That's funny that you bring that up. I had been thinking earlier of remembering when I was a kid and being "on the outside". I was the kid with their nose pressed to the window everytime I saw a horse trailer or people out with their horses on trail rides. I remember that feeling of wanting a horse so bad. I also remember the first time I was riding a horse and saw kids staring at me from their vehicle as they passed by cause I knew what they were feeling.

I'm almost 40 and to this day, I still stare at folks on trail rides, trailers with horses passing by, or even a pasture of horses. (I make my hubby slow down so I can stare and drool.)

"Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and, once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

When we were moving from Louisiana to Nebraska we had two trucks. Dan had the two horses in the trailer, and I had our two kids in the truck behind them. All the way there, they kept saying "Mommy, look at the horsie butts!!!" They thought it was the greatest thing in the whole world. Like many of you, I was that little girl that would watch a trailer until it was gone. I now hope to inspire my girls in that same way. My oldest is really looking forward to getting back and riding daddy's big white horse.
